What is checked and how
Every five minutes we run a real query against our database and against the official sources the notebook depends on. Today those official sources are Spain's: the Cadastre, SIGPAC, the Ministry of Agriculture's plant protection register (MAPA) and the service that resolves your parcels from their cadastral reference. If one answers with an error or does not answer in time, it is retried after three seconds before being marked as down.
The bars are the last 30 days, one day per bar: green above 99.5 %, middle above 90 % and red below. Days without a bar are days when we were not measuring yet.
What happens to your data if something goes down
What you record in the field is saved on your phone first and synced afterwards. An official source being down does not stop you logging a task: when it comes back, the task completes itself. Having no signal works exactly the same way, because working without signal is normal in the field, not an exception.
If the plant protection register is what fails, validating a new product may stay pending for a few minutes. The products already in your notebook stay validated, because we keep a copy of the official register.
